Mr. Blue UPDATE... Lookin' so good and handsome...
UPDATE...
Mr. Blue is feeling lots better. His tumor was an Apocrine Gland Ductular Papillary Adenoma (say that 3 times fast!!) Basically it is like an infected sweat gland, sort of, but anyway, it was benign! YAY! He has a clean bill of health!
Mr. Blue is 13 yrs old & has had a big ugly growth on his head for
several months. A lady who lives across the street from where he
lived said his family could not afford to take him to the vet. A
couple of weeks ago, Blue's family moved away & left him at the
house where he stayed by the front door hoping to be let back
inside. The neighbor was feeding him, but contacted PAL because she
felt so sorry for him & she was afraid the next renters would call
animal services to have him picked up.
PAL took him to the vet & he is scheduled for surgery on Monday,
Aug. 27. We are hopeful of a positive outcome & clean bill of
health for this poor kitty, who could have a number of good years
left in spite of his age. He is very loving & very laid back, even
though he must be in pain. Once he heals he should be as handsome a
cat as he surely was prior to his illness.
The surgery + previous vet bill so far will add up to about $400.
